Arrow Exhibition Display Case Histories.
Every year, Sanyo hold a week long event where their distributors are invited to see the new electrical products being launched into the retail market. It's an opportunity, in a captive environment, not only to introduce the newest technology from Japan, but to develop new relationships and cement existing ones.
Having built several of their exhibition stands over the past two years, Arrow were invited to put forward a proposal for this year's event which was to take place for the very first time at Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire.
Beautifully set in a landscape of wooded slopes and open parkland, the Jacobean splendour of Hanbury Manor has an air of refined luxury which starts to make itself felt as soon as you turn into the elegant drive, curving its way past manicured lawns with impressive cedars of Lebanon, massive sequoias and gorgeous magnolias and flowering shrubs. To the left a golf course spreads itself out enticingly, and in the distance can be glimpsed two glittering lakes and a helicopter pad.
The design brief demanded that Arrow transform the function rooms in which the event was to be held so that it was a truly captive environment, "The World of Sanyo". Although the guests would have the full benefits of Hanbury Manor during their stay, during the presentations Sanyo wanted a complete transformation with none of the hotel's decor visible.
After eight weeks construction, Arrow's heavily laden vehicles pulled up at the doors of Hanbury Manor and installation began.
With our design team and senior management on-site to supervise the installation, the function rooms were transformed. Chandeliers and wall lights were removed, hotel doors replaced with specially constructed new ones, the "hotel carpet" replaced and a false floor (under which all electrical and satellite feeds were routed) was laid.
A false ceiling was installed and various props dressed the final display. Pictures were hung on the walls, a projection screen installed and a fishbowl with exotic fish was provided for guests to photograph with the latest digital cameras.
The build was finalised and on the Monday the doors opened to the guests.
CLIENT: Sanyo
VENUE: Hanbury Manor, Hertfordshire
PROJECT:Distributors Meeting
A fresh contemporary design helped to contrast the stately splendour of the venue with the cutting edge technology on show. Sanyo required a full day and half to install all their equipment and with an installation period of only three days, detailed planning was essential to ensure the minimum disruption to guests of the hotel.
A series of meetings was held with the client and the management of Hanbury Manor during which discussions ranged from removal of chandeliers to the supply of sufficient electrical supply, satellite feeds, vehicle access and the suppression of noise. Health and safety and fire regulations were observed.
Once the final design was approved, construction began in earnest at the Arrow workshops.
Our skilled craftsmen hammered and sawed
their way through mountains of timber so as to change the existing venue into a true reflection of the conceptual visuals.
This is what the client had to say:
"Following the success of our 2004 trade show, I feel I should write to say a big thank you to you and the rest of your production team who helped us achieve such a high quality exhibition. I am extremely grateful to Arrow Display for the thorough consideration that you brought to displaying all of our forthcoming new technologies and the attention to detail that you showed for our event"
